This was my first project that involved working with wall power and manipulating them using switches controlled by my Arduino. I wanted to see if I could create a prototype that could dispense water based on the calculated weight of a container subtracted by 1 Liter of water. Due to my lack of materials, I resorted to creating the platform with wood (leaving my room a health hazard due to the sawdust). I hot-glued the switches, breadboard, and microcontroller onto the platform. Wire management consisted of scotch tapes (very junky). I controlled the water with a fish tank pump and a solenoid valve located in the water basin and at the end of the hose. It ended up working properly, but due to the poor craftsmanship and the hose being held up by electrical wires, I had to disassemble it.
It's really hard to seal a container properly. The water basin would often leak and the hot glue that I used to hold the pipe in eventually gave out and jammed my water pump.
